About Me

Patricia Kortt: Eugene, Oregon, United States; I was born in the Midwest, Indiana to be exact. I have painted since I can remember and was fortunate enough to have parents who recognized and cultivated my abilities early. Although I have had my share of instructors and workshops, I am mainly self taught. I consider art to be a lifetime of learning and adventure. I developed early a love for the Indian culture, for their history and spirituality. My most frequently asked question is "are you Indian" The answer is no I am not. I like to think the question is often asked because of the creditability of the work. Many N.A have carefully inspected the paintings with approval. It is fair to say my love for art includes a variety of subject matter. My art and prints have been acquired by buyers and collectors coast to coast. My work has been sold at the 'C.M. Russell Auction of Original Western Art', The ‘National Western Art Show and Auction’. My work is represented by the Darwin Goody Art Gallery, Ellensburg, WA This year 2011, the Clymer Museum of Art awarded my painting 'Yankton Sioux' the 'Clymer Award'. It was the first time in their history to present this award for a charcoal painting.
